Job description

PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION

The Business Intelligence Specialist provides guidance, designs, and deploys BI software and systems, ensuring seamless integration with source applications.

KEY RESULT AREAS

  1. Translate BI requirements into reliable BI solutions - Design, produce, and maintain functional and technical data structures within the BI environment. Ensure accurate and consistent data integration from multiple source systems. Provide reliable data input to support reporting, analysis, and forecasting activities.

  2. Manage the BI environment and data in this environment - Maintain and adjust the BI environment in such a way that, even in a changing environment, the timely data retrieval is ensured at all times and the data’s integrity and consistency remain at all times safeguarded.

  3. Create and maintain standard and ad hoc reports and queries - Based on the built BI environment, develop and maintain user friendly reporting queries and/or full reports and produce these by means of the various report generators.

  4. Continuous improvement - Signal and take action upon malfunctions in processes and procedures and propose improvements.

Architecture & Fabric Context

  • Semantic Layer Ownership: Experienced in managing centralized datasets (semantic models) that serve multiple reports, with a clear separation between the data model and the visual report.

  • Fabric/Service Awareness: Strong understanding of the Power BI Service (Workspaces, Apps, Row-Level Security). Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric features such as DirectLake and Composite Models is a significant advantage.

  • CI/CD and Version Control: Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control using Git.

  • SQL Knowledge: Proficient in SQL, capable of querying the Gold layer directly for validation and analysis.

Visualization & Business

  • Data Storytelling: Skilled in designing dashboards that go beyond charts, focusing on answering key business questions.

  • Requirement Translation: Able to engage with business stakeholders, understand processes (Contact Center experience preferred), and translate requirements into technical data models.

  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English

Job requirements

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s or academic degree in a relevant field

  • 2–4 years of experience as a BI Developer or Data Analyst

  • Strong DAX expertise: Beyond basic sums and counts, with the ability to create calculated tables and write efficient measures for complex KPIs

  • Deep understanding of Dimensional Modeling (Kimball/Star Schema): Skilled in relating Fact tables to Dimensions and correctly handling many-to-many relationships

  • Strong understanding of Power BI Service (Workspaces, Apps, RLS); Microsoft Fabric features (e.g., DirectLake, Composite Models) are a plus.

  • Experience with CI/CD and Version Control (Git).

  • Good proficiency in SQL.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced working environment, very willing to learn the processes needed and a fast learner at the same time.

  • Must be willing to work onsite: Makati City.
